Hi, My name is Nancy Gomez and this is a story of what I did to deal with: the fact that my dad had cancer.
When I found out my dad had cancer I just didn't know what to do. A single parent of two struggling; How could I help my dad like he had always helped me? I thought of my poor mother and what she was going through. How hard it was for her? She was the kind of mother that had to be strong for her family and grandchilderen. I myself couldn't deal with it very well, so I spent most of my time working, studying, and being with my boys. I didn't know any other way to deal with it; and going home to have to see my dad suffering was hard to do.
I lost my dad David Guerra at the age of 43 he had Metastatic Brain Cancer. It has been 17 years since my dad passed away, and now we found out that my 2 year old nephew, Ryan Anthony Guerra, also has cancer in the eye. It was hard for his parents also to deal with it.
