Mixing and Pouring

Most of the work of the mixing and pouring of concrete will be done by the mixer truck, which is often taken for granted. In order to familiarize yoursef with the intricacies of hand mixing concrete, I recommend you pick up a couple of bags of whatever bagged mix your local hardware store carries, and try to mix them by hand in a wheel barrow for your first project. It will give you an inherent appreciation for the modern machinery behind the mixing process. When pouring with a truck, try to place it as close to the pour as you can. If there are accessibility issues, you may have to resort to wheelbarrow work or possibly even a pump truck in extreme situations.
