This site is all about Dachshunds. And if the word "Dachshunds" seems different it's because the word Dachshund comes from Germany. Dachs means badger and hund means dog. Being from West Texas, I pronounce the word "Datsun". They are often referred to as "hot dogs" or even "weenie dogs". Dachshunds were used to hunt badgers, wild boar, and foxes.

I have two Miniature Dachshunds and they are a joy to have. I hope that by looking through my site you too will fall in love with Dachshunds.
